I remember a few years ago when Staples came out with the Easy Button. What a great concept. They have a solution for all of your bookwork or homework needs, and you can find it all in their stores.

Now that was easy.

This reminds me of a life with Jesus. He makes things easy. First, when we’re searching for Him, all we have to do is ask. “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8).

Now that was easy.

If we’re looking for God, we can find Him through Jesus. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

Now that was easy.

And God sent his Son to die on the cross to forgive us for sinning—not condemning us, but giving us eternal life. “For God loved the world so much that he gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him” (John 3: 16-17 ). So all we have to do is believe, and we will be saved.

Now that was easy.

Then, if we submit to Him, he directs our paths. We all wonder what to do from one day to the next, but if we submit our lives to God, He shows us the way. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Now that was easy.

Life isn’t easy all the time, but Jesus says, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

Now that was easy.

So stop doing things the hard way. Commit your life to God today. He makes it easy for us to understand what we need to do—believe in Him, trust Him, and obey Him.
