Speaking of food, when the disciples encouraged Jesus to eat after a morning of travel, He said, “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent Me, and from finishing His work” (John 4:34).

Read that verse again. Slow down, take a deep breath, and feast on each word. You and I are not defined by human praise or personal accomplishment. Our motivation shouldn’t spring from either of those impostors. What should motivate us is doing God’s will and finishing His work. What motivates you?
