“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’” (Isaiah 52:7).

Those shepherds were really something! Can’t you just see these low-profile men (probably including young boys & maybe girls), quietly out watching their flocks in the cool evening . . . without any warning, they are frightened by this strange sight of a heavenly messenger telling them of a unique occurrence nearby . . . then, if that wasn’t enough, suddenly the sky is filled with a gathering of  bright angels displaying the glory of God!

As instructed, these obedient servants went to see the newborn King & worshipped Him. However, the most important action they took was to immediately become some of the first evangelists of the new age! Luke tells us that “after seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child.”

What a magnificent response! How much more do we have to shout about?

What a joy to have so many opportunities today to “Go Tell!”
