Doesn’t this leaf look like a star that fell face-flat. 🙂

I saw a post saying, “I will worship while I am waiting.” I want to change that to I will worship while waiting . . . and falling.

This picture is one my favorite pics taken this year (at least up till now). It’s a simple yet heartfelt picture. It was taken after a rain and when I was all in the gutters. I was just exhausted and tired and decided to take the camera out and check out if there was anything that was worth taking.

I was trying to capture some photos but the wind was just too strong and I kinda wanted to go back indoors. But I remembered that it’s important to give God time to work, so I just took a casual stroll down the street and then back home. While I was heading back, I saw loads of maple leaves on the ground.

This particular one kinda reminded me of the times that we need God by our side—when we fall face-flat. It seems so hard to climb back up, but without these situations we could never grow and we wouldn’t bear as much fruit. It might hurt when we fall and also when we love those people who seemingly don’t deserve our love, but as this quote says, that IS how love is supposed to feel:

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”  ―C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

Let’s be vulnerable and love and also dare to step out and fall face-flat.  —submitted by Victor Kuah, Australia
