No matter how hard we try,

regardless how loud we cry,

however long we wait,

whatever is at stake,

none can match any trait

of the moms God has made.

Even before we rise from our sleep,

they are already cooking and cleaning;

their homes, they strive with love to upkeep

from early morning until late evening.

No matter how busy we think we are,

many mothers are much busier by far;

yet, they seldom regret, moan or complain

even when they are tired or in pain.

Even when are lack of rest,

they continue doing their best;

even when they are put to the test,

moms are rarely lack of zeal or zest.

In truth, theirs is a labor and power of love—

a labor that conquers all adversities,

a power that comes only from the God we serve,

whether we live in the country or cities.

From their God-willed conception to our safe birth,

moms have showered us with their maternal love;

from our birth to our gradual growth,

they have shown much more than their worth.

To the Ephesians, Paul’s message was a kind letter,

but, to us, Christians, it is a constant reminder—

a reminder to honor our father and mother,

that we may live long on the earth and always prosper.

Our mother we should not only honor,

but also cherish beyond all treasures;

not only special days should we cover,

but each moment through pleasures and pressures.

C               –                 Commend our mother into God’s hands

H              –                 Hope for the best and pray for her always

E               –                 Ensure our love for her never ends

R              –                 Relish each moment in ways that amaze

I                –                 Invite God into our bond of love

S               –                 Surprise our mom by the way we serve

H              –                 Honor her and God without reserve

M        –            Mother our mom as she has mothered us

O                    Offload her burdens and treat them as ours

M                   Marvel at mom’s talents and dedication

S                     Salute her with much love and admiration

We thank and praise God for blessing us with mothers.

as we embrace them for all their sacrifices –

on and after twenty fourteen eleven May,

let us all celebrate Mother’s Day every day.
