Okay . . . so I smacked into a pole while looking back at something behind me. I hate it when that happens. (Don’t act like you’ve never done that!) What? Just me? Oh . . .
Well, have you ever done what I do all the time—the “trick sidewalk” stumble? You know, the sidewalk has a huge bump you trip over and then when you look back, nothing appears to be there. Mean ol’ trick sidewalk! I hate it when that happens. (Now don’t act like you’ve never done that!) What? Just me? Oh . . .
Then, guess what? I must be truly clumsy! No explanation or excuses. Every time I stumble like that, I’m simply not paying attention. I hate it when that happens! (Now, now, don’t act like you’ve never done that!) What? Just me? Oh . . .
Guess what else? Every time I stumble spiritually, I’m not paying attention to GOD’s WORD. I hate it when that happens! Don’t act like you’ve never done that! What? You too?

Kathy:
I don’t think I’m as clutzy as you on the sidewalks :), but I confess to being a spiritual clutz. Thanks for reminding me how silly I look when I’m too busy for God.

I do admit to the pole one of my grade school memories I never forgot.
“I’m not paying attention to GOD’s WORD.”
Now that really hurts in so many ways.
