I just returned from watching the powerful movie, “Unbroken.” This movie tells the true story of Louie Zamperini, right up until the point where he gives his life to Jesus at a Billy Graham Crusade. The movie alludes to his conversion in a concluding slide, but it’s sad that it reduces the most important moment in Louie’s life to an endnote.

This oversight reminds me that Christians don’t believe in the possibility of remaining unbroken. It’s too late for that, as we are already undone by our sin. We aren’t unbroken, but we are forgiven. And we believe in the resurrection. Louie Zamperini died this year, so he isn’t unbroken. But he entrusted himself to Jesus, and he will rise again!
