My friend Greg is always setting examples of christian leadership if it be at work, his dealings with the public, his daily devotions, and amany of his mission projects he goes on. His daily prayer life and devotion to Jesus is a image I look up to and use him as a model for my children to follow.
davidreit, your friend Greg sounds like an amazing example! Thanks for sharing some of the specific things he lives out that shows his vibrant faith in Jesus. I’m reminded of what the Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:9, “Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” Wouldn’t it be great if we all lived in a way that those younger in the faith could truly see God at work in us!
i have not had christian friends for a very long time. i am done with school and alone at home alot. its tempting to hang with people that are secular but when i do i dont feel right.
i think God wants me to use this period in my life to grow closer to Him; for me to attach my self to righteous things.
my cousin was my christian friend but she is suffering from gay issues. i admire her because she is soo full of the spirit- she speaks in tongues (i dont) and is very interested in the scripture. but often, like now, she back slides and continues her gay life. i told her she needs deliverance.
i dont know what to do but i give her advice as often as possible and pray for her. i know the devil doesnt what her as a christian because she is extremely passionate about Christ. she always talks about going to the north to preach to muslims and how she knows she’ll probably be matryed.
its a pity cause, i didnt even go for her birth day on sunday- i knew what the scenerio would be like.
bobby7, I hope you can develop some friendships with strong believers in Jesus for both encouragement and spiritual growth. It sounds like your cousin is confused in her identity and is dealing with some significant spiritual battles/struggles. There is hope for her to find healing in Jesus. The video presentation found here can offer some assistance. Peace.
The christian that inspires me the most is Kathy. Her faith is so strong that she never lets anything in this life get her down. She has taken in many young adults and helped guide them to Christ. I am one of them young adults she helped to be reconnected to Christ. She also has done tons of missionary work in other less fortunate countries. She spreads the love of our Father in everything she does. I hope to have faith just like she does one day!
The christian that inspires me is Stephanie she is a strong christian women. The way she carries herself and how she conducts herself with her husband and kids. I like the way she is obedient to God and does his will. She inspires me to want to do more for God!
A youth leader from a campus ministry inspires me is Christine. She leads us through her service in the group. Her heart full of gentleness, carrying the 9 fruits of the Spirit inspires me to live a life with God. Whatever the circumstances, she didn’t neglect God’s mission. Now she is far away because of her professional carrier, but her presence remains in me, from reaffirmation of faith to continuing the faith & good works inspired by her.
tippi81, sherel, lizet, you all have identified a woman that has modeled beautifully what it means to be true believer in Jesus. The qualities of Christ-like compassion, obedience, and leadership leap out from your comments. Great things for us to cultivate in our faith and relationships!
When I met my husband – i believe God has sent him to me for us to be together. He is my BFF – bestfriends forever and I believe i am his bff too. He’s been my inspiration – he has led me to build my relationship with God and every single day – he is my reminder that God is the reason we are alive – we are together and our love for each other comes from the LORD. It’s been an amazing 2.4 years of marriage – and he patiently leads me to how to seek the truth whenever there is doubt or anything that affects my faith. GOD did a great job of having each other as bestfriends. God bless everyone.
Thanks for sharing, glenycasa. It is a wonderful thing to have a spouse who encourages you in your relationship with God. May He continue to bless your marriage to your BFF!
I met a man named Lonnie at church in Texas about 2.5 years ago. He was a much older man but he so wise and friendly that we quickly became friends. He had an amazing ability to quote appropriate Bible verses for almost any situation. He built up my faith at a very traumatic time in my life. He shared stories of his youth and his trials and tribulations and strangely enough EVERY situation I was going through at that time he had already experienced. He gave the confidence and hope that i could make it through because he already had.
I had to move 1500 miles away from our church and my friends but Lonnie and I still speak often. He always ends the conversation by telling me that he lifts me up in prayer every day. He tells me he calls my name out to God and I am honored to know that.
When I am older and meet young men going through trials and tribulations I will remember the wise advice and fellowship Lonnie gives me. And I hope I can have a similar effect on them.
The Christian I am moved by most is a woman named Carmelita. I met her back in Los Angeles in 1987. She used to host Bible Study groups at the government agency where we both worked.
I have met a lot of people who said they were Christians through the years, but this lady was actually Christ like. She was always humble and gentle. Always prayed for others.
Carmelita was a spiritual warrior. I still call her and seek her advice and prayers to this day. God Bless her.
I may never be half the Christian she is, but we all need role models here on earth.
