My previous experiences about fear emanated from various kind and nature that I cannot really gauge which among them was the most terrifying. As far as I can recall, anything that radiated fear in me were of the same features. They are all disgusting and disturbing… But thanks be to GOD! Had it not for His Word and His Spirit, I may not have conquered them all.
ehdlive, most of us have had many fears during our lives. It’s interesting, however, that—as you pointed out—fear can actually direct us to God and our deep need for Him. I’m reminded of David pouring out his heart to God in the Psalms as he was experiencing fear caused by his enemies (for example, Psalm 3:1-4). Praise God that He can give us victory over enemies and over fear (Psalm 3:8).
