I love to pray this verse: “Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in Your instructions” (Psalm 119:18). I’ve made it into a little poem that I pray: “Open my eyes that I might see the wonderful things You have for me.”
I would worship with some songs/praises. Sometimes I read a psalm aloud. Psalm 45, 103, 145 are my favourites. when my thoughts are wandering and I cannot settle I pray in tongues…
When i do my devotion, i pray first, giving thanks and offer my praises to our almighty God and ask Him to cleanse me of my unrighteous ways. Also, i pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence. Next is worshipping God with a few songs of praise before i read His Word asking for wisdom and understanding. Lastly i end with a prayer asking for guidance for whatever needs for myself and others.
I always feel refreshed and strengthened when i spend time with God daily. God bless.
GChoo, it’s cool to see how prayer is woven throughout your times with God. If this is how you start your day, I can see really pave the way for maintaining a prayerful state every minute—calling out to God for wisdom and help, thankful him from a grateful heart, asking Him to help others, praising Him for who He is and what He’s done!
I start my everyday with fellowshipping with God by having an intimacy with through worship and praise, and i start thanking Him for all He has donwe and then i commiting everything i will do for the day, nolifying every activities of the enemies against my life and family and loved one and friends. then i start declaring the promises of God concerning my life and praying for the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ upon all that concerns me, all i will do and all i will become. And then i lift others up before God, praying for saints all over the world and then finally i pray in the Spirit building up my most holy faith calling those things that be not as though they were…. and then i study His word. there is this joy everytime i spend time in His presence and i come out of His presence, even if i was heavy before ppraying once i come out of His presence i feel so light and and refreshd.. Because there isno way you will be with Him and you contenance wikll not change. for me is from glory to glory. Halleluyah!!!!
kemi, thanks so much for sharing the helpful details of your time with God. It is true that joy flows when we enjoy this sweet, intimate fellowship with Him. What a great way to start the day!
Every morning when my children get up for school and about the same time on the weekends,I read a chapter from Proverbs that goes along with the date. I also read, without fail,Psams 51. I am in constant need of his grace and forgiveness. David’s prayer is a prayer that is close to my heart and circumstances.
