My husband Leny and I would like to go back to our country – the Philippines. If we get that chance to stay there for good – we can have that opportunity to help our own people build a relationship with God. Majority of them prioritize on how to make money to buy food or live a comfortable life but they dont know how important God in everything that we do. We want to build a community where people can and should go back to church and pray to our only God and look to the bible as our daily bread of life.
gleny, it’s inspiring to hear of what God has laid on your heart. May He help you in the days ahead as you plan for your return to the Philippines and begin establishing a Christ-centered community!
Thank you Tom. We are praying that day will come. Watching on tv what happened to our country was devastating. Typhoons continue to hit them and floods everywhere and people lost their homes to these disasters. If we can continue to pray for them to hang on to that faith that God is always with them in good and bad times.
I would go to Russia. God put it in my heart this year to go teach an ESL (English as a Second Language) class and share Jesus with them. It is my hope that the details will come together in time to go on a six-week mission starting in June 2012.
I would like to go to Sierra Leone. One of my good friends did a mission trip there this past summer and she had a powerful testimony when she returned. Both of us believe in Christian education (she is a retired school teacher by profession and our Sunday School teacher) so the work she was called to do there was so meaningful to her. I hope that one day the Lord opens up an opportunity for me to serve in this capacity abroad but for now, I will continue to work in the vineyard in which I presently live.
dawnlenore1, you bring up a vital part of serving in missions. Our story, our experience, is used post-trip to inspire others to also go and serve! Thanks so much for sharing this insight, may God bless your desire to serve in Sierra Leone.
Africa. And work am0ngst the AIDS orphans. I wanna put a smile on their faces knowing that there’s life where there’s no pain, no hunger, no orphans. I wanna love them like Jesus.
I would go back to Zimbabwe (and hope to be able to next summer). I have been blessed to make 7 mission trips to Zimbabwe and love the openness of the people, their simple faith, and the beauty of their country in spite of its difficult economic and political situation. My wife and I do correspondence Bible study with people in Zimbabwe on a weekly basis, and it has been a tremendous blessing to our lives. Prayers for my special brothers/servants in Christ in Zimbabwe, Hailey, Daniel, and Clement and their families.
