One thing that has meant a great deal to me in times of crisis is for someone to simply be there . . . to be near and to listen. I hope would that this would be my primary way of ministering. Also, I would strive to gently remind the person that God is with them and that His presence is real (Isaiah 41:10).
as for me it is Matthew 11:28-30 come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and i will give you rest. take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For i am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for you souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. 1Peter5:10-11 and the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. Looking back at it now. I lost my father, my mother, my business, almost my sanity in a matter of 2-3 years. But looking back at it now i thank God for sustaining us through those tough times. It was when i truly learned and developed a relationship with God. one of my favorite verse in proverbs 3:5-6 trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will keep your paths straight. God is for real!!! He is not just a feeling… call on God!
