no real human contact is not good for a thriving real society…. we need to have real contact to realize we are in this world…. nothing is personal anymore everyone cowards and hides behind the computer screens not even selling yourself for a job is with feeling and eye contact as it should be…. Jesus went to each city preaching the gospel….. not sending messages….
I have found that facebook has allowed me to get in touch with old friends who I would have never been in touch with before. Being able to share photos of my kids with everyone at once has really helped my not-so-near family stay up-to-date. I have also found it easier to start up conversations in person because I know so much about what they have been up to lately. I think it is a great medium. But as anything it can be abused.
For me, social media has been awesome. I have several dear Christian friends that live in other states. I can keep up with their lives and we can encourage each other. It’s humbling when you post a prayer request and have 22 people agree to pray with you at a time when you might not been able to leave the house or even talk on the phone.
However, with many of my clients, it was been a source of temptation and stress in their marriages as they reconnect with old flames and spend time with others on line instead of their family.
As with anythingl…it is not good or bad… it is how we use it.
