By studying all of God’s story we learn our story. Who we are in Christ Jesus, our heritage, where and how we stand, our present, our future, and our existence in this world as well as in the spirit. Every time we spend time in Gods word, something new is always added to our story. Whether it be grace, love, hope, power [and so on] the newness added to our story will always lead back to God’s story. Then his story becomes ours and our story becomes his; and then we are one in him.
Beautifully put, lawrence3314. Yes, as we grow in understanding of God and His story, we experience an amazing clarity in seeing who we truly are in Him and how we fit in to His glorious plans!
There is a very famous evangilist that stated – That the word of God is History (His-Story).
He would later describe the Bible and the word of God as a constant reminder that it really is the God’s story, and that we are mearly supporting actors in it.
Just like the star of any movie or play, the themes, plot or dialog revolve and always come back to the main character.
This should be our reminder that we are not the center, we are not the focus. Everything needs to focus on God, as everything comes from God, thru God and back to God, for his Glory alone.
You’re so right, rickc1971, it’s all about Him. But isn’t great to know that God has called those who are believers in His Son to be His children, His ambassadors, His heirs? As we read His story, we see how much He loves and faithfully cares for us. His is worthy of all our worship and praise!
