One day Jesus will say, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed Me. I was thirsty, and you gave Me a drink” —Matthew 25:34-35 How should this future reality affect us today?

I don’t look at the quote from Matthew as talking about some point in the future, I look at it as talking about the time after I died to the world and gave my life to Christ. It affects me today and everyday in how I view each day the Father gives me and in how I try to live my life to honor Him!

In a world where self interest has taken the base of relationships, ” me, myself and i” tends to be the guiding principle it can often be a daunting task to ‘see’ the hungry, sick, naked because of the selfish veil before our eyes it take Gods grace to see beyond the vail and this we can find if we put our trust in Jesus Christ daily i ask for the grace to see beyond the vail, not to look away but see Jesus in every human many times i fall yet God’s helps me to move on

Good thoughts, osbert10! Jesus gave us the perfect example of a true servant, selflessly giving His life for us. “Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form, He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross” (Philippians 2:6-8).

We should always strive to hope…as there was hope when Jesus was on earth, He wants us to always put our hopes in Him. Good or bad days, put your hopes in Him, for He will guide our paths.

Does this passage not also mean to literally feed the poor, disadvantaged? The church that I attend has begun mission trips to less fortunate countries. I support this financially and prayerfully. I thank God that He has blessed me so that I may help the less fortunate. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. For it is only by His grace that it is not me who is hungry!
