I recently went through a major transition in my life. In 2013 I had my left leg amputated below the knee. Initially I had to deal with therapy and re-learning how to do everyday tasks with only one leg. Then I had to readjust at home with my new set of challenges. Through it all I kept the Lord close to my heart. There were several times I felt frustration that I had had too much piled on my plate. It’s at these times the words of my Grandmother would come into my head, reminding me that God never gives us more than we can handle. When things got overwhelming, I would stop and take a moment to gather myself and ask God for help-prayer was crucial. I found he would speak to me in his own way, reassuring me I would be alright. His presence was a very real thing, and it made my faith grow, knowing He was a powerful force in my life. I had been told since childhood that if you asked the Lord, you would receive His blessings and comfort. He did this for me in a very genuine way. All my thoughts and words here boil down to one thing- make God the center of your life and you will find the comfort and strength you need to find your way through any transition in your life.
jessie1, thank you so much for sharing your story. The principles you laid out for dealing wit[h a major transition are excellent—remembering the wisdom found in God’s Word and praying to Him for comfort and guidance. May God bless you today as you continue to trust and follow Him!
Hi jessie1, thank you for sharing with us your personal experience. I am sure it is a great encouragement to us all, whether we are going through very traumatic circumstances now or in the future. Praying for more of God’s blessings over you and your family. Amen!
hi Jessie, your post serve as great encouragement for many & myself, not many individuals (believer or not) will able to stand up against challenging times as those you gone through & often ended up miserably in life as we tend to FOCUS on the circumstances rather our GOD,
Be Blessed!
