In my opinion, the most merciful person would have to be Jesus. Especially during this Easter season I am reminded of the suffering he endured on the cross and yet found it in his heart to request mercy from his Father for those who persecuted him. I know if a group of people drove nails through my wrists and feet, pierced my side with a spear, and placed a crown of thorns on my head, It would be difficult to look upon those people with any degree of mercy. Even a simple request to have His thirst quenched was met with sour wine. Not to mention the taunting and derision Christ had to endure. Yet he asked God to forgive them, because they didn’t know what they were doing. There is no other person I know who displayed mercy to that degree. I feel sometimes that folks forget that while Jesus was the Son of God, he was also a real human being who felt the same things we feel. Remembering that is part of the cornerstone to my personal religious beliefs. It truly, for me, shows just how amazing our Lord and Savior was during his time on earth.
God Bless, Jessie
Thanks for sharing, Jessie. Yes, Jesus truly showed us unmatched mercy as He suffered for our sin. May we reflect His mercy and grace to those around us today!
