How does God’s love for me help me to love others—even those who seem to be unlovable?
For me it was looking at who I had been, who I was and who I wanted to be with also reading and understanding and getting close to God.
I knew of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, but didn’t have a close relationship with Him.
In understanding that Jesus loved me and forgave me, and wanting to keep the closeness I had found with the Lord, I must do as the Word says to do.
It isn’t so much that I HAVE to forgive all others, it’s that I want to be like Jesus who freely forgave all of us by dying on the cross for us. I choose to keep the relationship with Jesus, so I choose to forgive others as Jesus does.
I didn’t like who I was, I know who I am and I know who I want to be and choose to do what it takes to get there.
mizroby, I love your example of seeing others through the lens of God’s transforming work in your life! That’s where grace and love can flow so much more freely.
I agree with you. Only with God you can love the unlovable. By myself I couldn’t do it. If I draw closer to Him I would know how God would love that person.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. —1 John 4:11
As we let God refine us , it becomes easier to love others

Satisfy your demand for reason always but remember that charity is beyond reason, and that God can be known first through charity. {Flanner O’Connor}
