Money, as is everything else that is good in this life, is a gift from God. Like food, shelter and clothing, we need it to survive. But money can easily, and often does, become an idol. Something we worship, hoard, revere and depend upon for our needs.
Paying taxes is no fun. But we’re to “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.” Even Christ paid the two-drachma Temple tax.
Tax evasion, regardless of the justification or excuse, is a sin. If you don’t owe a tax – you shouldn’t pay it. But if you do ….

Oh, yeah … we honor God by viewing money, not as an idol, but as one of the many resources he’s blessed us with. We are to be good stewards of what he’s given us.
I believe the Bible makes it clear that we’re to share with those in need. I also believe in the principle of the tithe. And, if you can find you your way to give beyond the 10%, I believe that honors God as well.
