The economy, job loss, health issues, school pressures, and other challenges can cause us to become anxious. What has God taught you about what to do with your worries?

First of all, I want to thank you for bringing this topic up. Public opinion is so widely varied these days that it can be hard to know which side you’re on.
How do you support your President even when you don’t agree with the direction he’s leading our nation? (This is something that I struggle with.)
I would like to take the opportunity to go to the Old Testament.
Isaiah 9:6-7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.
This government that Isaiah refers to is not a political one, but the governing our of lives.
Jesus has already came. He already died for us. Our eternity is secure if we’ve put our hope in Him.
Who is in charge of our choices?
Who do we live our lives for?
We are not supposed to be in charge of our own lives. The more we let God direct our thoughts, conversations, decisions and actions the more we are transformed into the image of His Son.
His desires become our desires. We love the things that God loves and we hate the things that God hates.
As we put our trust in Him He calms our fears.

I struggle with anxiety quite a bit, and along with it, the guilt from having little or no faith. However, several things have helped me when I start feeling the paralysis of fear or the confusion that comes anxiousness.
I worship God with songs. You Tube has amazing songs with the lyrics so I can follow along.
I find and recite verses that deal with the things I am anxious about. If no specific verse comes to my attention, then I just meditate on “yea, though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.”
I remind myself to “be still” and know that He is God: It is like a parent, patting her kid’s back and saying, “Shhhh! Everything will be alright.” I also remind myself that all He expects me to do is to “stand”, because when I feel weighed down, standing is about all I can do. (Eph. 5:13-14)
I talk to my husband, who is my best friend, godly counselor, and prayer partner.
After being a Christian for decades, I am learning to pray and leave the concerns with God.

Yes there is a lot going on in the world. Scripture reminds me that I do not belong to this world. In fact the Bible promises that I will have troubles.
But when I look at things from an eternal perspective, it’s not so bad. Right here, right now, in this place I am standing, I have all I need.
The God who created everything knows me by name. Knows every detail of my life. Has forgiven my sins because His son paid their price for me. Thank You Jesus!
I can’t afford some things. My wife and I are trying to start a family but it seems not to be in the cards. My wife has a health issue that concerns me. I have dear friends that refuse to believe in Jesus. I am aware that probably 3/4 of the world would love to have my ‘problems’. I am not oblivious to these things but I trust God. He has done an amazing work in my life and I know He will never leave me.
When I am tempted to worry, I can pick up my Bible and scan through and read the places I have hi-lighted. I can talk with my brothers and sisters in
Christ and lay my burdens down.
‘surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life’
