He hears our cry
Have you ever felt as if no one was there for you when you faced a difficult and trying time? Perhaps King David’s words reflect what you were feeling: “I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought! No one will help me; no one cares a bit what happens to me” (Psalm 142:4).
Jesus weeps
It happens often at weddings. The mother of the bride can be seen quietly sobbing. Her tears are a fitting response to the coming of age of her daughter and the memories of the years she had nutured her.

Rachel, the daughter of fellow ODJ author Jeff Olson, is a young woman I love as if she were my own. Recently, she completed an 8-month missions trip. During that time, I became concerned when she contracted malaria while serving in a rural part of Kenya. Fortunately, her health was restored after taking some strong meds. Rachel’s ministry for Jesus definitely caused her to be affected physically. Her emotions were even more affected, however, as she poured herself into people who were dealing with the effects of sin.
