Psalms 24:1-6: The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.

Jesus tells us in John 8 that we must continue in His teachings so that, through them, we might come to the knowledge of the truth. The truth will make us free from the bondage of sin and man. He also warns us in Matthew 24 about the deception of men who will deceive many by their lies and trickery.

Even though Jesus has warned us about these things and has instructed us in what we are to do so that we won’t fall prey to men’s lies and deceptive ways, it’s hard for us to grasp these truths as reality. We must come to the realization, however, that we’re living in the last days. We must snap out of our slumber and awake to the fulfillment of all the signs that Jesus gave us concerning the days that we’re now living. No longer can we “bury our heads in the sand” and deceive ourselves into believing that it will all go away.

Although Psalms 24 tells us that the world belongs to God, and all that dwell in the world also belong to Him, the thief has come into the world to steal, kill, and destroy. There is a move in “Christendom” that is seeking to ignore the truth of the gospel; it teaches that because we all belong to God, we all serve the same
“GOD.” Even though the theory of evolution denies the existence of God and that all living creatures—including mankind—were created by God, we are, in fact, created beings which originated from the heart of God. Since God created mankind in His image and according to His likeness, we must conclude that we all share—as a commonality—God our Creator.

The Psalmist didn’t stop with that one statement, but continued with a question and an answer that I want to poise to you today. “Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies.”

When Satan embodied the serpent in the Garden of Eden and caused man to sin against God, it caused all of mankind to become separated from God. Though we have all been created by God, it doesn’t mean that we all serve the same God. Although the world and its religions refer to a “being” and call him “god,” it doesn’t mean they are calling on the name of the Lord. Romans 10:9 tells us that if we will confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved.

All of us were created by God, but not everyone is going to be allowed to ascend to the holy mountain of God, nor will everyone be permitted to stand in His holy place. Only those who have given their hearts and lives over to the LORD JESUS CHRIST will truly belong to God. Those who are washed by the blood of Christ will be able to ascend the holy hill of God with clean hands and pure hearts. We’ve been made the righteousness of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through His sacrifice and our faith, we’ve been granted access into the Holiest of Holies.

John 10:7-10: [Jesus] explained it to them: “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before Me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through Me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

Only those who have placed their faith in Jesus as the Son of the living God are saved. Acts 4:12: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Beware of false teachers, prophets, and preachers who say that we ALL serve the same God. Paul said if anyone comes to you preaching another gospel than the one that he and the Apostles preached, don’t believe them. Remember, without the spotless blood of Jesus there can be no remission of sins.  —submitted by Pastor Asa Dockery, US
