As the helmet is made for the head,
likewise for us, this day God has made;
we rejoice and thank God for each day,
as He saves man in His time and way.
God blesses our brains with His knowledge,
and bestows our minds with His wisdom,
that we use them well from age to age
to help bring others to His kingdom.
God’s helmet of salvation
is for each tribe and nation,
we shout in jubilation
for His solid protection.
From the north to the south,
from the east to the west,
we are to use our mouth—
not to curse, but to bless.
Whether a lot or a little,
we must not lust or see evil;
whether with aided or unaided eyes,
on the things of God, we must fix our eyes.
Whether we hear cheers or jeers,
let us not misuse our ears,
but listen to God’s Good News,
and help Him fill up the pews.
Not to gossip or to slander,
but to encourage and bless others;
the tongue is small, but not weaker,
without it, our meals would be tasteless.
Any stench or fragrance, it can smell,
our nose helps us to breathe just as well;
not for poking into private matters,
but for keeping us safe from all dangers.
Our face is not just for outward beauty,
but also for our own identity;
it is indeed a great privilege
that we have been made in God’s image.
As on our strong neck, rests our head,
by which we are linked to our body,
God leads us as our mighty head
as we obey Him as His body.
Regardless of our age or gender,
more willing hands make the work lighter.
Let us use our hands to do God’s will,
and not to destroy, steal, or kill.
Whether as normal, for work or fun,
our feet help us to walk, jump, and run;
also to wear shoes of the gospel
to share God’s Good News with all people.
From one another, we may be far,
yet parts of one body, we all are;
different likes and dislikes, we may have,
yet, in God as our Head, is who we have.
With God’s ever-binding cords of love,
let us be united and stand tall,
as one body, let us love to serve,
always thanking God, our Lord of all.
