Are some seemingly impassible stones looming in your life today?
In a recent sermon, Jeff Manion, Senior Teaching Pastor at Ada Bible Church, used the stone that was rolled away at Jesus’ tomb as an interesting illustration. He noted that the women who went to anoint Jesus’ body prepared their spices and went to the tomb without knowing who would move the stone (Mark 16:3). Just as they went forward with their task, in spite of not knowing how the massive rock would be removed, Jeff encourages us to trust God when He calls us to a task that seems insurmountable. Even when it seems like the stone is way too big.
Great thought! It reminds me of what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:7, “We live by believing and not be seeing.” What stones are you facing today? What is God calling you to do?

Tom,
Thank you for the encouragement and call to faith. I have been meditating on faith this week. Particularly looking at Hebrews 10 and Hebrews 11:1. My objective is to understand faith more fully. I am really only at the beginning of this journey but I thought I would share some of the key ideas briefly:
The just shall live by faith
We must hold fast to our faith – endure and keep faith. I paraphrased Hebrews11:1. I would love to hear any comments or suggestions on it…
Our confidence in the Gospel of Jesus Christ is securely founded on our expectancy and trust, and it is the manifestation of the truth of Christ – the Word of God – which is not seen with physical eyes.
