Have you ever noticed that the word “Luck” is used more than “Bless”? People, even believers in Jesus, tend to say ”Good Luck” and not ”God bless.” I wonder why a person would want to have luck more than blessing? Luck is by chance, indefinite , unpredictable, and it can be either good or bad. While to bless literally means joy, happiness, prosperity, to protect, etc. Blessings give us real benefits. Blessings come from the Lord. Being blessed is far better than what luck can bring. By grace we are saved, and that’s a true blessing!
So let’s get rid of “Good luck” and change it to “God bless.” Simply saying “God bless” will remind each of us of God and all that He has given to us. I hope that today, when you successfully complete a task or achieve something, that you won’t say, ” I’m so lucky!” Instead, may you joyfully acknowledge that God gave the gift to you, saying, “I’m so blessed.” See the difference? —submitted by Teffi, Philippines
