In a scan of the news today, you’ll see that 70+ countries have agreed to donate $4.5bn in aid to the Palestinians—primarily designated for the rebuilding of Gaza. That coastal strip of land has been decimated by the continued battles.
When I look at the sad plight of this war-ravaged region, it reminds of my need to take a good look at how I handle my personal battles. When I feel insecure or fearful due to a conflict with a family member or friend, do I lob a “verbal grenade” at them? Do I return fire with fire? If so, the end result will be heavy damages (see Gaza).
Instead, Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 18:15-17 points to a better way to handling hurts inflicted on us by another believer. Go to that person and humbly discuss the offense. The goal is restoration of relationship with glory being brought to God. This sure beats repeated battles! What have you learned from God about how to handle conflicts? What works?

As I became new to this site today, I realized how much I needed to stay connected to websites as these. I realized how bitter I am towards people, and how badly I have handled myself lately at work, with my family, in my relationship….Thank for this blog, as it has helped me realize I’m not alone, and my goal every day should be to restore and not retaliate.
Thanks.
