O Lord, what a variety of things You have made! In wisdom You have made them all. May the glory of the Lord continue forever! The Lord takes pleasure in all He has made! (Psalm 104:24,31).
Lovely lotus! In the Bible, there is a mention of the lotus plants giving shade to the Behemoth (Job 40: 21-22). As kids when we went on extended train journeys, the sight of wayside ponds blooming with those water lilies was a feast to the eyes.
In Solomon’s temple, the capitals on pillars and column were shaped like water lilies (1 Kings 7: 19). Jesus Christ, the One greater than Solomon, referred to His own body as God’s temple. And today we are the temple of the living God. Jesus promised to make us pillars in the temple of God (Rev. 3:12).
Believers belonging to the body of Christ are being built into God’s eternal house. The beauty lies not in the pillars but is the glory of God who will live and walk among them (2 Corinthians 6:16).
