Expectations . . . a Promise . . . a Light shining in the darkness. If ever there were a recurring theme during December, it’s that of looking forward. Kids anticipating holiday vacation . . . and presents under the tree . . . times of celebration . . . the family gathering . . . special treats, just to name a few. And yet, while the promise to Israel was that of a coming Savior—their Messiah, we today celebrate that He came over 2000 years ago. Yet, in this so-called “enlightened” age, where so much darkness still dwells, we do have the Light—God with us, Immanuel. For what are you waiting?

I tend to get a bit depressed this time of year, because it gets dark so early (5:00 PM!). I will use this as a reminder to look to the Light. Thanks!

Isn’t it great, Mike, that we do HAVE the Light on which to focus those dark thoughts whenever they invade! T & P
