Thinkin’ about my grandfather. He used to crack us up by singing “I’m a Little Teapot” and say, “Here is my handle” (one hand on hip), “here is my spout” (other hand on other hip)—pretend to be frustrated, start over and sing—”Here is my handle, here is my spout” (both hands on hips)—look down at his sides in frustration after the third try and shout . . .
“Hey . . . wait a minute . . . I’m a sugar bowl!”
Some of us are not the teapot. Some of us may feel like “Chip,” the cracked cup in Beauty and the Beast. Some of us are the sugar bowl. Some of us the creamer. We each must find our place in the Body of Christ and serve right there—being what God made each of us to be.
We can’t all be the teapot!
You be you, I’ll try to be me—for God knows what He’s doing! Together, we can be the whole tea set—warm, inviting, refreshing to others.
