For some people, due to personal loss or sad memories, Christmas can be a difficult time. What is the best way to lift up a believer in Jesus who is feeling blue this season?

Remind them of why Jesus came, that he endured great pain on that roman cross. After all, Jesus knows about the burden of life, he had to live it himself, and it ended painfully. The bible records that Jesus wept from time to time. So perk up, and remember your saviour that died for your sins.

i guess to think of what is right with the world and not what is wrong, it sucks sometimes, this holiday will not b what i’d hoped but i tel you im learning earth is not heaven and high expectations are sometimes bad things, sometimes people sin and they don’t realize that Jesus came to save not solve all your problems. What about the ppl in prision preaching a prosperity gospel isn’t going to help them, God may choose not to change their circumstances so what are you gonna do. Tell what Jesus came for and not what HE didn’t.

Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.” I believe that Jesus is saying to his disciples that “comfort” is a present inward peace that one experiences when he quietly and patiently breathes his name in prayer in the midst of grief and sadness. After all, grief and sadness breaks our stubborn will and brings us into an attitude of total surrender to His Will. Only Jesus can bring peace. A visual thought that I try to remember during low times is that the sun is always shinning above the clouds. Eventually every cloud that overshadows our life passes away. Like Job in the O.T., we must just wait upon the Lord and trust His love and grace during the dark times of our lives. As time passes we can confess as did Job, “I have heard of you from the testimony of others; but now I have come to realize your comfort and presence through my own experience.” (paraphrase of Job 42:5).

I think if we all remember the ture meaning of the season it makes the blues go away. Dwelling in a the seceret place with GOD helps. Staying in the word.

My father died on December 23, 2003 and it was a terribly hard holiday for me and my entire family. He loved this time of the year and he loved his family and the time spent with them. We were all very sad but as we remembered him and how much he enjoyed life with us we couldn’t remain sad for long. Now at every Christmas we think of him and tell great humorous stories about him and his love for all of his family. Our pain and suffering brought us closer together.
