Proverbs 27:17. We need each other for support and accountability. There is a certain motivation to live a holy life when we know that if we fall we will negatively impact others. And when life gets icky, having a supportive church family is a huge blessing.
Good points, Roger. It’s amazing how God uses others’ spiritual gifts to sharpen and encourage us. We definitely need one another to be complete in Jesus!
Attendance at a local church is important for Christians to grow in fellowship with other Christ-followers, to be fed Scripture, pray with and for others….and of course to grow more in our relationship with God. I understand that for some Christians, involvement in a church can feel daunting and stressful, but that all starts with finding a place where you feel comfortable and welcome. 🙂 God calls us to meet together and share life together–how else can that truly happen if we are not seeking a church family?
LaruenJulia, your whole post reflects the beauty of community that we see in the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit). You’re right, if we’re not engaging in community with other believers in Jesus, we’re missing out on what God has provided to help us grow to be more like Him.
I NEED church and fellow believers to help me, feed me, hold me accountable and allow me to do the same for others. When I stop attending, I stop reading and praying as much. Others may be able to live a Godly live apart from being a part of a church BUT I sure can’t.
We become something special on Sunday morning. It’s not just about us individually but about us as “The Bride”. We function differently on Sunday. We worship our bridegroom and have fellowship cooperately.
I can say first hand that not being apart of a Church family is an empty feeling, like dying inside. We’ve been searching for a Church family for sometime. One grounded in the Word, has real Worship and is full of loving people. I believe we found one finally.
Although we’ve only been there 2 times we have felt a great Peace and a wonderful sense of God’s Presence. When it’s time to go home it’s like a homesick feeling to go back, like I was being fed something and I want more.
We miss out on so much by not being with God’s people. We all are a part of the family of God and we support one another in love and Spiritual oneness. There is nothing like Corporate Worship! Personal worship is great too but being with a family all singing to and loving the same Savior does something for the soul.
I feel that God’s morality is ask us to help and to love. Therefore, I want to start a small group to gather some of my non christian friend to help the needs. It is nothing to do with religion, because those in needs might be in different race, and it is illegal to spread other religion to muslim in my country.
I didnt serve in church, also i feel I want to do things that really can help people,I feel God will happy for it. I feel serving in church makes me feel like showing that others how much I loves God.
Anyway, I know how much I love and disobey Him at times. I dont need to explain to the christians in church if they dont like me just because i didnt serve in church. If the christian really cares for me, they ask me about it, I will explain to them.
I find there’s alot of difference between being “part of” a local church, and being “involved” in a local church, and being “connected” in a local church. I have gone to the same church for nearly 28 years. I have for most of those years been involved in service in my church in one form or another. So I believe I am part of that local church. But as our church has grown, and my day-to-day life has gotten busier, I think I have become less connected to my church. These days I go to church more because i believe it is good for me, and my contribution of service is good for the body, than because of any other reason.

I agree with everyone. I’d like to add that it’s also a place for worship, but I guess all of your descriptions are ways of worship.
