Why do some people with ‘addictive personalities’, switch from one addition to another addiction, and cannot see the fallacy of their decision?
I have found that when you turn 110% of your life over to God, He provides for you. Yes it does take time; but it is on His time, not human time. I just have to bear that in mind, when I see the above question repeated over and over again. It literally tears my heart and soul apart, to watch intelligent people do the same mistakes over and over again. I can just imagine what goes through the Heavenly Father’s mind when He sees it as well. But then again, things happen for a reason…
Hmmm, many questions come to mind. What should I do with my life? What should I do today? or tomorrow? How can I please you, and how will I know if you are pleased? But the answer to these can be found in scripture, and our search for them is the begining of the answer.
Other questions are less timeless but still valuable. What is the best approach to curing cancer, or other diseases? How do we feed a growing population with out raping the earth? What would really happen to an electron if we accelerated it to the spead of light?
I think if I only had one question it would be When? When is it over? How much time do we have left? The answer to that question would provide perspective for the other questions. Then the only question left is Where? Where is my soul in relation to You? And that is a question we must each answer for ourselves.
I would ask God a couple of questions. Since I am 31 y/o and I just found God 12/24/2009. I would want to know if I am really going to be forgiven for the sinful life I have lived for so long. I also would like to know what is my “ministry” suppose to be. I am reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and I’m on my 32nd day. It tells me to find what Im good at and use it. Its so sad that I’ve never been good at anything but sinful things. WHAT ON EARTH IS MY MINISTRY GOD? Can anybody tell me how to find these things out. Any advice would be better then no advice. Thank you and God Bless

shayskin, I’m sure a lot of people in the ODJ community can identify with your question. This post by Mike Wittmer may prove to be helpful:

Also, check out Ephesians 2:8-10. These verses have helped me understand what salvation in Jesus is all about!

I want to ask God what he wants me to do.

I want to ask God this because sometimes I am unsure what he wants me to do.

Without faith it is impossible to please God…why have I searched and longed for the ability to trust God all my life only to have it elude me?

Hello Kimberly, I know exactly how you feel. We
have to continue to seek God and pray for
guidance. In His own time he will direct us.
Galatians 6:9, says do not become weary in doing
good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest,
just don’t give up. The proper time is not our time,
but God’s time. I am waiting also.

My pastor told me some years ago if I wanted to
know God’s will and purpose for my life “just ask
Him” I am involved in several ministries and I am
still not sure what God’s purpose is for me. I have
also read the Purpose Driven Life (twice). I will
continue to seek his purpose for me. I truly believe
that he has a purpose and a plan for each and
every one of His children.
