I would say, read the Christmas story in Matthew and don’t drink caffine. I struggle with having peace because I have terrible anxiety. I am always getting flustered about something and struggle finding peace. The Lord said he would supply all our needs so I need to trust Him. At times it is so difficult, but his blessing in my life reveal his word is True!
I don’t want to assume anything here, but if I were looking for peace, my inner world would be in turmoil. And I would just want some peace in my world, is that too much to ask?
My world is peacful amid the storm because God and Jesus promise me that they will carry me through any storm. Just because they love me. Yes, even me. Even you. You are lovable. I can’t always quote scripture, but in my heart and soul I believe God has a purpose for me in this world. God’s job is to show me the way. What is my job? To be open to His way. Believe down to my core that I matter in everything I say, do and feel. My job is to do this as peacefully as possible so that I may hear Them. If I am not peacful inside, I cannot hear my God, nor can I hear Jesus. Ask God to help you be more peacful and to find peace in your heart so you may go peacefully out into the world your way, not the evil one’s way. God will do this for you.
I came to the Lord all messed up. It took me a while to learn that I can find peace in the Lord. I had to 1st except him, then walk with him as I walk with him, he took care of me by supplying all my needs, and not only mines, but the ones I loved. I didn’t get all I asked for, but I got all I needed. I thank him now I didn’t get some of those things I’ve asked for. I learned to trust and love him, it is a process that doesn’t happen over night, but it will happen you have to just trust and believe. Matthew 11:28-30 Promises ” Rest for the Weary.” Since I’ve trusted my life to him, I now have a Peace the surpasses all understanding peace, things aren’t perfect life is full of trails, but I do find rest, which brings on peace. THANK YOU LORD GOD!!!!!
I’m going to say something, I know most of you won’t agree with, but it must be said. Though I am a Christian and I accept Jesus as my savior who died on the cross for our sins so that we may find salvation through the shedding of his blood, I remain on a daily journey to find peace in this world. It seems everywhere you turn there is grief and turmoil, even within our families.
Our society here in the U.S., has lost it’s way. We live in a selfish, “me first” culture, where humility, respect, honesty, and integrity have become non- existent.
This may sound paranoid to some, but I truly believe that this chaotic, ruthless world in which we live, is on the brink of self-destruction. As it says it in the Bible over and over again,Jesus is coming, and we shall be held accountable. But it’s not too late. We CAN make a difference, though there is MUCH work that needs to be done.
I find it very difficult to find peace, except in the quite solitude of my study room, where I can read the Holy Book, meditate, and pray to God. That gives me the inner strength and peace that I need to survive in this world.
I think you are very right on here! We as Christians know how everything will end thank goodness! However, as Christians, we need to be exhibiting peace in the midst of all the chaos so others will see Christ in us and then desire that peace for themselves. Philippians 4:4-9 really says it all! Yes, the Lord is near and much chaos and destruction is all around us. Like you mentioned, meditating on God’s Word, praying, seeking His peace gives you inner strength and peace to survive in this world.
Good Word Paulajo. I also hold on to God’s word in John 16:33, where he told us we shall have troubles, but be of good cheer for he has overcome the world. We must realize that the peace stealers are going to be, but if we keep our minds stayed on Jesus, trusting him with all our heart (Isaiah 26:3) he will keep us in perfect peace. Peace means to experience an atmosphere of rest even in the midst of the storm. We must continually fast and pray and humble ourselves before God. He sees, hears, and knows all. God has a plan and He’s working it all out. Read John chapters 14-16 on peace.
I agree Paulajo. Those were the verses I was going to list. I call them the recipe for peace. When I follow the directions….I have peace no matter my situation.
I would say be still and wait upon the Lord, for it is he who will give you inner peace.
Alot of us want to speed things along so to speak, but if we just wait and seek the lord’s words to us in our meditation of god’s word we will truly first experience his blessing and then the peace that comes with it…
I want to ask to someone who are looking for peace…”what is the real peace do you think and believe?”
I believe we can’t find the real peace in here-our life’s circumstances but we can find and sustain it if we are in jesus and want to be in him although in any worst case.
Please pray to God and frankly say to him about your now situation. If you do that I belive God gives the real peace in your mind not in your situation. and peace in your mind can change your life’s situation.
I would direct (or redirect) them to Jesus, the Prince of Peace(Is 9:6). There is no real peace apart from Him. I know that sounds cliche, but we only get to the place of ‘needing peace’ when we stray from Him, either mentally or spiritually.
Is 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” – to have peace and keep it, our minds must be stayed on (not strayed from) Jesus.
Let me copy and paste this verse from Phil 4:6,7
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
We stay our thoughts on Him by actually going to Him in prayer and thanksgiving. That is an indication of our focus on Him, and not a focus on the situation, and by so doing the peace of God will keep our hearts and minds.
So find a scripture to stand on, stay in the mode of prayer and supplication, focus on the greatness of your God, and there’s absolutely no way the peace of God would pass you by.
We have to stand on the belief that this is not a war of flesh but of spirit. And we have to rise up above all the chaos to find peace. Jesus is above all the chaos. so when we find ourself in a situation that is distressful rise above it because spirits of the enemy are seeking to destroy, and face the spirit of destruction with understanding, love and compassion of Jesus Christ, because that will be the only thing to overcome it and bind it so that it no longer has a place.
One of the benefits of knowing God is peace. He promises us this. But, what I didn’t know for a long time was that peace comes when we submit to authority. As long as I am running the “show” of my life, I will not experience peace. It is when I fully trust Him, no matter what is going on in my life, that I will experience His peace. I love the scriptures posted above. I need to read them daily.

Thank you Paulojo for your words of encouragement and truth. That was an excellent example of one of the many in the Scriptures.
I must turn my troubles over to Jesus and rest and be still. As I said before, this is my biggest struggle on a day to day basis.
Never the less, I trust in my Lord Jesus, and I know that he will provide the inner peace, as long as I live in his presence and practice his decrees.

As the cliche says:
Know God, know peace…
No God, no peace.
I have peace…
cliche or not, I find this is the answer pointed to in scripture.
