Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, through his Faith Foundation, has launched a global program to foster better relations and understanding between world religions. It’s designed to promote dialog among young people from different faith backgrounds. What’s your take on this effort?

Given a choice between dialog and suicide bombings, I’d have to go with dialog. I think we should be able to engage our fellow man in healthy, constructive conversations. In the end we may only agree to dissagree, but that is better than fighting, or alienating ourselves, or isolating ourselves.
I think that we also need to be prepared. It is nice to be able to live in a buble where no one questions what you believe or why. It is comfortable. But that is not our calling. If we believe we have the truth we should be less concerned about loosing our youth to other religions and more concerned about giving them a balanced apologetic.

What better way to be salt and light? If the purpose is dialog, no one need be offended at our message of truth and life.
