“The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).
I’ve been reading The Heavenly Man by Paul Hattaway, and—I have to say—it’s really amazing to see God working in China. It’s great to see the Chinese ministry grow!
I took this pic when I was in Nepal. It definitely had nothing to do with Christ, but it was a marvel to see the flames being tossed around in the air. Just as God’s work is being carried out and spread across the world, the flare and flame for God should never die. It shouldn’t, however, become the reason for serving. It’s not the flame nor fame that drives us. It’s God.
I’ve fallen into this trap way too many times: as I serve, I forget the reason I’m serving. My mentor once said, “Sometimes we have to step back and look at why we are doing things.” If you’re tired from serving, may I suggest that you take a step back, take a break if you must, and revisit the reason you’re serving. May God be the reason—and if He is, you’ll find strength through Him, the strength that you need!
Things shouldn’t be done because of tradition or because it gives us warm fuzzy feelings, but for Jesus and Jesus alone.

Well said, Victor! Reminds me of one of my favorite verses, Romans 8.10-11: “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” May God’s Spirit continue to energize you!

This is wise advise. I think that when I get weary, I naturally shift my eyes to the ground. It helps me muddle through, but I am unable to see the big picture. The ‘why’ question is key. Thanks for the reminder!
