Our local church has trained some of our people to be mentors to families that aren’t doing well financially. THey help them spiritually—and with physical needs if necessary—to make sure they have their basic needs met. It’s been really good for our whole church. All ages. We’re becoming more aware of not only the needs of people in our own congregation, but of those outside our doors too . . .
I would like some input about a Bible question and Answer that was in our paper.
The question was,Where does the bible condemn the use of choirs, solos, and mechanical instruments in worship?
The answer: : stated that the Old Law and been nailed to the cross (Col.2:14), all our authorization for worship (as well as our teaching and practice) must come from the New Testament. No one can find any authorization or permission from God in the New Testament to use choirs, solos, or mechanical instruments in worship. They used Col. 3:16 to say God excluded anything else that man could imagine regarding music in worship.
There is more. I wonder how can one get so mixed up with scripture like that. Have any of you heard this before?
