In Singapore, about 80 percent of the population stays in flats.
There is a common joke among flat dwellers (and I’m one of them). We say, “We don’t own land; we own only a pocket of air.”
Well, in reality, there is a spiritual truth in this statement. Everything we have in this world is temporal. Nothing we own will last forever. May we hence hold lightly to worldly things for they are like vapor. 🙂
[For those who have never been to Singapore, here’s another picture. Enjoy.]

Somethimes I forget just how blessed I am in my humble 2 bedroom, one bath home on a 1/2 acre lot. Oh my gosh!! Thank you for giving me some important life perspective!! …and may our good Lord bless you abundantly in all the important things in life …those things which go to our eternal dwelling places!

So true… there’s always people who are much worst off in comparison, so it’s better to count our blessings and not focus on what we do not have or own. After all, our wise God and Father knows what is best for us, because “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Tim 6:6)
And oh, by the way, I too live in a pocket of air in metropolitan Singapore (grin!)
