The thing that seems to me is many other world religions appear to have so many things that need to be accomplished to be “right or completed in order, to be in good standing or to reach a certain level of “citizenship??”
As far as Christianity is concerned it’s been Done! The price was paid a longggg time ago on a cross, far away, for me personally. My sins forgiven! Past tense. All that was required of me was to confess that I was born sinful , believe, and trust in an awesome, loving, God that would provide such a precious gift, HIS SON to shed HIS blood to pay a price that should have been ultimately my price, but paid for me and yet freely I was able to accept it freely, without any penalty, whatsoever! Praise God, what a Savior! Now I shall serve Him, praise Him and whorship Him, all of my days. Who could ask for anything more. He lives within me, to guide me. He lives. He lives. He’s not dead, but He lives. oh yeah He lives, He’s not a dead God!! Halleluiah!
Christianity is simple. No works required. Just believe in our hearts and confess that Jesus is the Son of God, became human for us, was crucified for us and now sits on God’s right hand interceding for us.
We are not saved by works but the works we do is an expression of our love for Him and our desire to give something back to Him.
Christianity when done properly is a revolution the world does not really get! Its ethics are so morally correct none can argue. The danger for christians is that those who claim to be members of the faith ’cause they either like churching or need to lable themselves something on a census.
Brennan Manning said: “The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips then walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.”
No other religions really give you the answers with such proof, the fact that God himself became flesh and died the way of a criminal. Died because what he taught upset the order of the day! But the grave could not hold him, death the one thing the devil has in his arsenal, is able to be vetoed by God.
We must make sure that because we are different form other religions, because of the truth that lives in us by following Christ, that we do not become blended in or “religious” following traditions rather than doctrine! CUT-T!
